Family history and historical preservation were keen interests for the Lennox family. Martha Lennox was interested in family genealogy and one of the founders of the Red River County Historical Society.
The Lennox Foundation has supported many efforts to preserve the history of Clarksville, including contributions to the restoration of the Lennox family home, 1884 Red River County Courthouse, Clarksville Cemetery, Old Church Theater, Colonel Charles DeMorse House, Old Red River County Jail and the preservation of the Lennox family church, First Presbyterian Church of Clarksville.
The Foundation has also provided matching grants to renovate Clarksville’s downtown square and to construct the Pride Creek Walk, linking many historical sites in downtown Clarksville. The Lennox Foundation is open to applications for projects that preserve the history of Clarksville and Red River County, Texas.
